Hawthorne Services was founded in 2021 by Gil Duran Jr. The company started with small home repairs, miscellaneous woodworking, and simple carpentry jobs, quickly growing into a full home service organization centered on a few simple, yet instrumental values.
The name Hawthorne originates from Gil Duran’s roots, where he first developed his craft on 320 Hawthorne Ln in Des Plaines, IL. Gil was mentored and trained by his grandfather, also carrying the name Gilbert. There he spent countless hours with his grandfather and father (Gil Sr.). The three Gil’s spent countless hours tinkering around sharing laughs and common frustrations with the tasks at hand. For years this bond would grow stronger than blood, unshakeable and life-altering for not only the three Gils but for the family and friends that would soon be introduced to the journey these three would embark on. Sadly, on December 3rd, 2015, the family would say their goodbyes as the man they called Papa took his final breath on this side of Heaven… Hawthorne is not only the name of the company, it’s a memorial, a reminder, it’s a testament to how we all start somewhere, and through the ups and downs of life, we are sustained and made stronger by our loving Father.
Today Hawthorne Services’ mission is to serve, striving to provide a unique relationship and service with every client we come across. We recognize that every client has a slightly different goal, and our mission is to assist the best we can in accomplishing that goal. Using the tools we were taught over 10 years ago by a man who embodied selflessness. Hawthorne does not set their focus on the riches of this world rather storing up treasures elsewhere. Our values for running a company are biblically rooted and centered around our relationship with our Creator.
We recognize that we are not perfect, we make mistakes and fall short, but nothing goes unnoticed and without correction and growth. We are a young company, eager to expand and reach more people, but more importantly, grounded enough to understand our true purpose in assisting those in our surrounding area.
